Rock Look

The ‘Rock Look’ is about being chill and not shrill. The best way to go about this is to choose a theme. I chose the British T-Shirt as I love the details and British Flags are very in this summer! Yellow is the only other non-traditional rock color I used to spice up the outfit. My favourite piece are the seamless holes leggings. What an eye-catcher!

This is the English Edition. It’s not always easy to get dresses which can be worn in the evening AND casually during the day. The key factor to make this work is ofcourse your choice of accessories and shoes. Heavy and glitzy accessories teamed with heels in the evening and boho or neutral accessories combined with gladitors or sandals during the day, is the way to go.

I’m loving silver at the moment! It just makes an outfit, especially in this weather spectacular. Teamed up with a light shade of pink instead of classic black gives a new edge to the complete outfit. Almost all accessories are silver. The silver necklace has a black detail which compliments the black shoulder details of the pink top.

I especially love the shoes. It’s got ruffles!! What strikes me most about the outfit is that it suits every shape and skin type well. I personally don’t suit pink at all but the whole dynamic of the outfit changes how it’ll look overall. Style your hair like Kate Moss for a relaxed look or like Mischa Barton for a Hollywood look. Two girlband members battle it out in this hot pink sleeveless silk playsuit designed by Adam. It’s a grogeous playsuit and it’s no wonder it’s sold out.

Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh wore this pink playsuit while attending fellow bandmate’s Cheryl Cole 26th birthday bash. She accessorized her look with a black/gold belt and black pumps.

Destiny Child’s Kelly Rowland arrived at TAO Las Vegas wearing this little pink number. The singer performed her latest monster hit, ‘When Love Takes Over’ with David Guetta at the event. She teamed her look with multi-coloured metallic accessories.

Rihanna is on a fast track of becoming – dare we say it – a fashion icon. She’s always ahead of her colleagues and not only hair-wise. She embodies old Hollywood glamour perfectly and my god is it so refreshing. She is definitely giving the red carpet a well deserved bite and we can’t help but love her style. She attented the Inglourious Basterds premiere in London wearing a fashionable get-up by Alexander McQueen.

Her Jumpsuit is from his Pre-Fall 2009 Ready to Wear collection which will be out soon as seen here. She accentuated her look by adding layers and layers of cream and white necklaces. Especially these details remind us of 80’s Madonna. We love. The Carribean beauty might aswell hurry up recording her album in London as we can’t wait for her to hit back on the pop circuit. Seems like the Princess of Pop might just be our Queen of Fashion.

Gossip Girl filming has begun and we sure are loving the outfits. Blake Lively was spotted filming on The Set of Gossip Girls in New York on July 27th, with co-star and real life boyfriend Penn Badgely. And again she looked lovely. We especially love this Hawaiian-themed playsuit which looked great on the leggy lovely.

BLOUSE Olivia Palermo. Staying true to her roots, Diane von Furstenberg employee and The City star wore this DVB print blouse to the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Miami.

She is definitely rocking the nude trend well and that’s why we’ve picked her because we definitely want to get her look! She also combines another style, which is the graphic detail on her dress and gets some extra brownie points for that. Bet she’s not going to need them at Brown’s this Fall, where she’ll be attending University and taking Literature. Smart and Fashionable.

Fashion Edition: Dresses for Under $25

Haven’t we all dreamed of finally getting affordable frocks? Well now those wishes have come true as Forever 21 has designed very affordable dresses almost all for under $25. It’s quite an amazing offer, so I decided to do the hard work and dig out some of my favourites for each occasion.

Starting off with our classic favourite. The ‘Going Out’ dresses also known as cocktail dresses. Here’s a lovely collection including the classic black dress. I’m especially loving the red one. The hem details are just extraordinary.

Next up is the business look. Whether it’s for work or just for looking formal, these dresses below are an eye catcher while still being decent. I love them all. I can’t even choose a favourite.

Next up are the beloved ethnic dresses. Very ‘in’ this summer and I absolutely adore them. Very bohemian aswell and especially in England a big trend. The second dress from the left is great. I would wear it when going on a Carribean holiday. The third dress from the left is my favourite though. Absolutely love the print and cut. Very flattering aswell.

Fourth up is the floral print look. Also a trend this summer and it’s abit brighter than the bohemian one. Trendsetter is Amy Winehouse. Followers include Scarlett Johansson, Sienna Miller, Diane Kruger, Reese Witherspoon and Lily Allen. Love the second one from the right. My other fashionista half Chiara loves the dress on the far right.

Leighton Meester vs Amanda Bynes

The Gossip Girl star wore her olive green Pencey dress to the premiere of her movie, Killer Movie at the Tribeca Film Festival. Hairspray actress Amanda Bynes picked the black version of the corset dress last week for a Cosmopolitan Magazine Party in L.A.

Both looked sensational in this strapless mini dess by Pencey. Leighton’s white round toe pumps were a nice touch. Amanda wore black heels and a black clutch.

Catwalk Hit Of The Moment

Presenting you a dance song which has recently become huge. The song is called ‘Work.’ The original’s by Masters At Work. However our favourite is the ‘Ibiza Disco Robot – Smarty Music’ version.

We love the bouncy flair and random lyrics. They somehow work. Sounds as if a catwalk was placed right in the middle of Kingston, Jamaica. We love!

Nude Boho

We love the bohemian style fronted by the likes of Kate Moss and Sienna Miller. But the style has been going on for a while so to match and mix things up, we decided to make a bohemian and nude combination. Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past few months, nude is the IN colour this season.

We started with the top. Love the cut and love the dark gold details around the hem. We squabbled over taking a black or white hotpant but we decided for a nude direction and went for white. We absolutely loved the gold studded white platforms and decided to get that look. The chain and necklace bring the funk and colour which is ultimately complimented by the brown suede bag.

Tip: You can optionally go for a Brown Vest or White Vest for a more laid-back look.

It’s another fashion face-off! This time it’s fashion icon and supermodel Kate Moss against The Hill’s ex-star Lauren Conrad. They both wore this lovely print mini dress from the Kate Moss collection for TopShop. They both accessorised differently: It’s Brash Tones vs Soft Tones!

The supermodel added a black blazer, black tights and black pumps to complete her look while attending the opening of the British chain’s Manhattan flagship store. The reality Tv Star turned author went for a light gray jacket to cover her printed mini while promoting her book L.A. Candy in N.Y.C.

With the catwalk and high street pushing them on us for some time, this is one of those trends that has taken a while to spark to everyday life. It’s only now, with the warmer weather, that they’re starting to look right.

Even though Blake Lively doesn’t have the stylist Serena van der Woodsen does, she still goes for gold. This playsuit she wore at the 2009 CW Network Upfronts at Madison Square Garden, New York, is a love-it or hate-it piece, but for those with Blake’s legs that think they can pull it off, then it’s a wonderfully relaxed look for the summer. Sex and The City’s Sarah Jessica Parker gives the summer look a lovely touch. SJP looked absolutely sensational in a rouched lemon frock by Temperley London (Fall 2009 collection: We have to wait AGAIN!) at the Cocktails at Sunset bash in New York.

In true Carrie Bradshaw style, Parker teamed her delicate frock with some pretty fierce accessories, including a pair of studded Miu Miu Rivet sandals, a multi-colored clutch and layers of gold chains.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen SJP at a social event and she sure arrived with a BANG! She’s definitely proven that she still holds her position as THE fashion queen. No-one can touch her at the moment.

If she’s at a party, she’ll steal the party. With two new babies at home (twins Marion and Tabitha) plus an active six-year-old, we’re really impressed at how she’s reinvented her style while staying bang on trend and still looking fresh-faced and fabulous! So how does she do it? We don’t know.

Tip: Black is boring for summer so opt for a zingy citrus shade to really make your outfit pop. If you still can’t be separated from your darker basics, try teaming a colourful dress with black shoes as SJP does.
